Albany is surrounded by world class fishing holes. Dale Hollow Lake has been heralded as one of the best fishing spots aournd and home to the world record Smallmouth Bass caught in 1955, which weighed in at 11 lbs., 15 oz.
Lake Cumberland boasts it's own fame with deep waters and large striper bass. The lake could gain it's own world records this year as well. With reduced water levels due to the Wolf River Dam repair, wildlife officials and fishing experts are predicting the fishing population to be "better than ever before". Many speculate that it will be the same amount of fish in a lot less area; that being the case provides a fisherman's heaven.
